I just finished reading Niall Williams book, The Four Letters of Love.
How does one behave upon finishing a magnificent book?
Although it was the second time around, and the first time was very moving, this time it flowed deeper into my heart's heart, plucked the strings and released a flood of bliss. Whew!
How fortunate we are to have powerful writers in the world who can engage our humanity in such a way.
This experience brings back memories of what it is like to walk around a Grade Primary classroom where hearts and minds are engaged in expressing important feelings, and emotions, and thoughts. I was so often amazed at what they wanted (and felt able, with help, to write). Even reliving the memory of those remarkable days and seeing that some of those children have become adults who are amazing writers and songwriters and are having a positive influence on their world and ours.
Love of language and meaningful experiences early on in life begins an infinite and precious journey toward answering the primal questions: "Who Am I?" and "Why am I here?"
