My Book is Born!!

Well it has happened!! My book, The First Five Years: Nurturing Your Child’s Ability to Learn is finally out. It’s my first book so it has been an incredible learning curve. My dreams are big:

  • 20 years ago I began to search for ways to prevent many of the learning/behavioural   challenges I saw arriving at my Primary/Kindergarten door. Over the years I discovered that many of those challenges are indeed preventable when parents and primary caregivers of young children provide a rich and safe early childhood environment for their little ones. And doing so actually enriches family life for everyone. It is not expensive to do so, but it is interesting. I dream that more children will arrive at school enthusiastic, ready and able to learn--it is sooo much fun to watch a child in high discovery mode in the Primary classroom. 

  • My second part of this dream is a Bigger Picture: Imagine my excitement when the epiphany hit me that preventing these challenges to the educational system would also prevent many of the challenges in the healthcare and judicial systems! Imagine the money we could redirect toward enrichment of our society as a whole. 

  • This is why I am so excited my book is finally out!
