Attending an "open mike" at the LaHave Bakery the other night. Great night--lots of original music and incredibly supportive audience. But my favourite entertainment had nothing to do with the performances. In the back row a little 1 1/2 year old was quietly being entertained by her mom. I am not sure what they were doing but I have a feeling it had to do with tickling. Whatever the cause, every so often the performer would be outshone completely by the perfect pitch of deep and joyous laughter--straight from her little heart and warming every heart in the room.
Laughter of a young child is so pure, so natural and spontaneous, words are useless to describe the sound and its effect on the world around it. What an uplifting soundtrack it would make!
